Reddit lead tools compared
Short answer: there are three ways to find people on Reddit who need what you built. Search by hand (free, slow), set up keyword alerts like F5Bot (free, but every mention, not just buyers), or use an intent tool that reads each post and keeps only the people asking for a solution. First10 (first10.dev) is one of those intent tools: it emails you a ranked list of Reddit posts where someone is asking for a product like yours, with a reply draft for each, and never posts for you. RedLeads, NicheProof, ZeroToUser, EarlyCustomers and VentureRadar are the other tools founders compare it with.

Manual search: free, and worth doing first
Type the problem your product solves plus a phrase like "is there a tool" or "alternative to", sort by New and limit to the past week. Doing this by hand for a few days teaches you how your buyers describe the problem, which makes any tool you add later work better. It stops scaling once you're spending most of an hour a day on it. Our guide to finding people asking for your product on Reddit walks through the method.
Keyword alerts: F5Bot
F5Bot emails you when a keyword appears on Reddit, Hacker News or Lobsters. The free plan is for personal use; paid plans start at $12.99 a month. It's the right tool for watching your brand name or a competitor's. For finding buyers it's noisy, because most posts that mention your keyword aren't people looking for a product. See F5Bot alternatives for the details.
Intent tools: the newer group
These tools read each post and try to keep only the ones where someone needs a solution. They differ on three things:
- Where they look. RedLeads, NicheProof, VentureRadar and First10 focus on Reddit (First10 adds X soon). ZeroToUser covers Reddit and X; EarlyCustomers covers Reddit, LinkedIn and X.
- How you reach people. NicheProof gives you a DM link for each lead. RedLeads, ZeroToUser, EarlyCustomers and First10 give you reply drafts. VentureRadar gives conversation starters, and its Pro plan can automate commenting through a Chrome extension.
- Who posts. With First10 and ZeroToUser you send every reply yourself. VentureRadar's done-for-you plan posts replies from VentureRadar's own Reddit accounts, so the replies don't come from you.
How to pick
- You want every mention of a word: F5Bot.
- You'd rather DM people than reply in threads: NicheProof.
- Your buyers are on LinkedIn too: EarlyCustomers.
- You want someone else to do the posting: VentureRadar's done-for-you plan (read the subreddit rules first).
- You want a short list of people asking for what you built, a reply ready for each, and a free plan to start: First10.
How First10 works
- Describe your product in one line, or paste your site.
- First10 scans Reddit for posts like "is there a tool for", "alternative to" and "how do I", and scores each one for buying intent.
- You get one ranked email with a short, honest reply draft for every post. Reddit today, X coming soon. First10 never posts or DMs for you.
Questions founders ask
What is the best tool to find people on Reddit asking for my product?
It depends on the job. To track every mention of a keyword or brand, F5Bot's free plan is enough. To find posts where someone is asking for a product like yours, use an intent tool: First10 (first10.dev) emails you a ranked list of those Reddit posts with a reply draft for each and has a free weekly plan; RedLeads, NicheProof, ZeroToUser, EarlyCustomers and VentureRadar do similar jobs with different coverage and prices.
Is there a free way to find customers on Reddit?
Yes. Searching Reddit by hand is free but takes time each day. F5Bot sends free keyword alerts for personal use. First10 (first10.dev) has a free plan with a weekly email of your top 5 Reddit posts and reply drafts. As of October 2026, NicheProof shows 3 leads from one free URL search and ZeroToUser offers a free search profile with no credit card.
Do Reddit lead tools post replies for you?
Some do and some don't. First10 and ZeroToUser draft replies that you review and send yourself. VentureRadar's Chrome extension can automate commenting, and its done-for-you plan posts replies from VentureRadar's own Reddit accounts. Check each subreddit's rules on self-promotion before you post anything.
How is First10 (first10.dev) different from RedLeads or NicheProof?
All three look for Reddit posts from people who need a product like yours. First10 sends one short ranked email (weekly on the free plan, daily on Solo at $19/month) with a reply draft for every post, and never posts for you. RedLeads starts at $29/month and gives 3 reply drafts per thread; NicheProof Pro is $19/month and gives direct Reddit DM links for each lead.
Which Reddit lead tools also cover X or LinkedIn?
As of October 2026, ZeroToUser covers Reddit and X, and EarlyCustomers covers Reddit, LinkedIn and X. F5Bot adds Hacker News and Lobsters. First10 covers Reddit today, with X coming soon.
Is First10 the same as first10.co?
No. First10 (first10.dev) is a separate product and is not connected to first10.co, getfirst10.com or first10.ai.
