Track which replies turn into users
If you reply to people asking for a tool, keep a tiny log. After twenty replies you'll know which subreddits and which wording bring real users.
Replying to "what tool do you use?" posts works, but only if you learn from it. Most founders reply, forget, and never know which replies paid off.
A log you can keep in five minutes a day
- One row per reply: date, subreddit, link, and the first line you wrote.
- Give every reply its own link to your site, for example with
?ref=and the subreddit name, so signups show where they came from. - Once a week, mark which rows led to a visit, a signup, or a reply back.
After about twenty replies, patterns show up. One subreddit converts and another doesn't. Questions do better than pitches.
First10 finds the posts for you. The log tells you which ones are worth your morning.
