What our first ten users taught us
We talked to every one of our first ten users. Three patterns showed up again and again, and they changed what we built next.
Ten users is a tiny sample, which is exactly why it is useful. You can talk to every one of them, and you should.
They found us at the moment of pain
Seven of ten signed up within an hour of posting a question publicly. Timing beat copy, design and price combined.
They wanted less, not more
Nobody asked for more sources. Everybody asked for fewer, better matches. We cut the digest from twenty posts to five and replies went up.
The best feature request is usually "show me less."
They paid when it saved a Friday
The first paid upgrade came from a founder who stopped spending Friday afternoons searching Reddit by hand. Saving a recurring chore is an easy sell.
What we changed
- A stricter match threshold, with a clear "weaker match" label.
- Draft replies that disclose the maker up front.
- A weekly free digest so people can judge quality before paying.
