Skip threads that want a human, not software
A Reddit ask for a freelancer or consultant is not a buyer for your product. Skip it and spend the reply on people who want a tool.
Your digest will sometimes surface a post that sounds close: someone needs help with the same problem your product solves. Then you read it again and realize they want a person for hire, not software.
How to tell
- They ask for rates, hours, or "anyone available this week."
- They want custom work on their stack, not a product they can try.
- Replies in the thread are portfolios and DMs, not tool recommendations.
What to do instead
- Skip that match. A polite pitch still burns trust.
- Save your reply for posts that ask "is there a tool for…" or "what do you use for…"
- If hire-me threads keep showing up, tighten the product description you gave at signup.
First10 ranks Reddit posts by how clearly people ask for a tool like yours, so you spend less time on freelancer threads.
