Spend one minute on the OP before you reply
Before you paste a reply, open the asker's profile for sixty seconds. What they already tried (or rejected) changes what you should say.
A strong match on paper can still be a bad reply. The post asks for a tool like yours, but the person may have already bounced off three similar products, or they may only want something that runs offline.
What to scan
- Recent posts: did they already name tools they hated, or a stack you don't support?
- Comments on their own thread: are they clarifying "free only," "self-hosted," or "must work with X"?
- Tone: are they shopping, or venting after a bad vendor?
How that changes the reply
- Mirror one constraint they already stated.
- Skip features they already ruled out.
- If their history shows they want a freelancer, walk away.
First10 surfaces Reddit posts where people ask for a tool like yours; a one-minute profile check turns those matches into replies that fit.
